CE marking for windows and doors is a legal requirement in the UK. CE marking is a declaration that the product meets the requirements of the applicable European directives. The performance characteristics declared on the CE mark are calculated by an independent third party

 

Windows and doors for listed buildings are often exempt from the requirement to meet the performance characterstics, such as the specified U-value for thermal insulation.
